DR Congo is out but the world won't forget the impact of Patrice Lumumba at AFCON 2025.
I need DR Congo to qualify for the World Cup so that he can pass the message to the more global audiences 💪
Maccabi Tel Aviv fans not allowed to attend Aston Villa UEFA Europa match due to safety concerns.
This is what happened last time the genocidal racist violent hooligans visited Europe @pularjs
This whole Maccabi Tel Aviv - Aston Villa issue should be a case study in the manipulative use of allegations of antisemitism.
It turns out the decision to ban Maccabi Tel Aviv fans stemmed from intelligence shared by the European Policing Network to Westmidlands Police regarding the danger posed by Maccabi Tel Aviv fans. It is for this reason that there was a 'high risk' designation because of violent incidents that had occurred elsewhere in Europe perpetrated by Maccabi Tel Aviv fans.
Our Home Secretary was made aware of this ban last week. So, the government has had a whole week to prepare a comprehensive and sensible statement / position regarding the ban. Instead, our political leaders have consciously and deliberately chosen to further a malicious narrative, claiming falsely that this is a case of antisemitism; that Jews in the UK are not safe and cannot be adequately protected if they attend football matches.
All of this is in furtherance of a narrative that pro-Palestine activity is somehow an imminent and serious threat to Jewish communities and the very future of Jewish life in the United Kingdom. This, in turn, is also furthering islamophobic, anti-Arab, and anti-Palestinian racism and dehumanising narratives about Palestinians and their supporters.
What a complete mess this has become all because our government has no spine and seeks to exploit the sense of insecurity and vulnerability of Jews as a convenient scapegoat.
@I_amMukhtar@NikoOmilana A whole raft of ironies to unpack here…not least the probable welfare bill covering her potential alcoholism (and god knows what else) could well be much more than the cost to the taxpayer of one asylum seeker’s essentials while their claim is in process!
@VP1897@danbardell can we get a full-scale protest in action? I know City fans protested at our game re ticket prices, but hopefully we can do something more effective?
@bryansgunn after watching the Villa Liverpool game tonight I instinctively blurted “great advert for the premier league”…gotta be a shout for the next compilation surely 😅 #greatadvert
I just read this on Facebook:
Someone asked "Why do many British people not like Donald Trump?"
Nate White, an articulate and witty writer from England, wrote this magnificent response:

Dateline: Goodison. The elusive beer baron continues to thumb his nose at the authorities. Swaggering about in a garish new hat, he seemed to say, "Look at me, Rex Banner! I have a new hat!"
