@282475249er Pipette bulbs were made for a reason: so that when you pull up all the way through a pipette it doesn’t end up in your mouth. Chemists are trained to use them, but microbiologists still routinely pipette by mouth with disposable pipettes.
No, thanks. I prefer not being poisoned.
@Ranluvies 4) He does good because his smarts gives him a way to be generous with goodness without being mushy. Being generous without expecting anything back is the logical thing for him to do. (Shades of latter-stage Spock here. 🖖🏼) No ulterior motive, just doing what’s right.
@Ranluvies 3) The child Shinichi we meet before his kindergarten encounter with Ran didn’t feel the need to just do good selflessly. It’s the natural way Ran instills this into him that cements her is his first and only love. They’re both that way, but they get there from different ways.
@john34766308 People may give Mrs. True grief about her occasional percussive maintenance of her husband’s attitude, but she does keep him in line (although his staying in line while mowing may suffer a bit with one eye swollen shut).
@Ranluvies 3) In many respects he sees what he might have become: an amoral genius who put the process ahead of the people it affects. His attempts to remind her of her own value and her ability to redeem herself could very easily be mistaken for romantic feelings by Shiho.
@Ranluvies 2) Conversely, Shinichi is the first guy she’s known who uses his strength for good, and she is attracted to that. (Ironically it’s Ran who brought this aspect out.)
The attraction is definitely one-sided, but it doesn’t mean Shinichi has no empathy for Shiho’s situation.
@ShaiTarkir When Kira finds herself surprisingly forgiving a Cardassian who falsely claims responsibility for atrocities against Bajorans out of guilt for his essentially innocent presence and participation, you know you’re in for a ride.
@ron_dayo16@l_se0m Yeah, you can ruin the evaporative canister (part of the pollution control system) by filling the tank too much. It’s designed to capture gasoline fumes let off by your tank, but the activated carbon in it gets saturated with gas and makes your engine run rich if you overfill.
@S2files Shinichi flashes that cocky grin at anyone he feels needs a confidence boost. It’s his reward to himself for figuring out how to beat a no-win scenario.
Shiho finds herself attracted to that confidence, and equates it to romantic feelings.
But he only loves Ran. Always has.
