My dreams for my daughter were of watching her live a fabulously big life. She planned to backpack Morocco. Dive several oceans. Visit Galapagos. Study in Amsterdam (she’s half Dutch). See her fall in love, with people and the world. Build wisdom.

She wants to be a doctor. She is deeply kind and empathetic. She is clever. She was topping her gifted and talented cohort. She loves to be in the water. Loves any kind of board. Loves to sing. Loves competitive sport. Loves philosophy, especially the ancients. Loves to think.

She got Covid in March 22, at 13.

My dreams for my daughter now are to see her live outside of a hospital. Be able to live without pain and nausea and crippling fatigue. And one day see her be able to eat and drink again.

Next week is Paediatric Long Covid Week. These children deserve research and a chance at real recovery.
