the awesome thing about acknowledging the end of the year twice a year about six months apart is that it effectively doubles the amount of time you can spend singing this year by the mountain goats very very loudly. in my case this has gone from 5 to 10 months but ymmv i guess

i wrote it in 2 days. wrote 4k across a few sittings, basically no rereading or revising that day, then today made edits and added (at least) 1k cuz i wasnt happy with the og ending. im so fucked last time i felt like this i wrote a novella in 5 days and got a bipolar diagnosis

for the record the library explicitly said newspapers or magazines were acceptable which is why ive decided webcomics and some fanfics also count, as long as i think it could reasonably become published print media i figure it counts? but i wouldnt count like… reddit stories idt
