Google’s parent company Alphabet is seeking EPA approval to release 64 million bacteria-infected mosquitoes across Florida and California. The male mosquitoes carry Wolbachia bacteria which makes them unable to reproduce when they mate with wild females, slowly wiping out disease-carrying mosquito populations. Biggest open-air biological experiment in US history and nobody voted on it.
