WHY IS SHE SO WORDY! WITH SO MANY FEELS!
When I found avallum, dusted off this abandoned account, and made my first tweet reply to Gale, I had just 4 bot followers and a dream, lmao.
I was new to vtuber fandom, but my overbearing, productivity-loving personality kicked into gear and right from their debut I became Yapatron 3000. I made shitty memes, started doing giveaways, learned clipping, built guides, just contributed however I could.
I didn't do those things for attention, but I did get attention because of them, if that makes sense. I've never cared about having a big following. I just like making things, yelling enthusiastically, and supporting the people I enjoy.
But somewhere along the way, I started occasionally feeling that being visible meant I wasn't allowed to just be berry anymore. That my opinions carried implications I never intended, and that my follower count somehow became a pedestal that I'd never, ever put myself on.
I may not always be relentlessly positive like a deranged kids' show host. I'm allowed to disagree with things. I'm allowed to be disappointed, have boundaries, and occasionally say something other than how wonderful everything is without it becoming a judgement of my character or my relationship with my oshi. If someone mistreats me, I should be allowed to stand up for myself without it reflecting poorly on a fandom I never claimed to represent.
I know I'm loud. I know I'm obnoxious. I know I have a very particular way of participating in this space, and I'm absolutely TERRIBLE at being a quiet lurker. If I'm not actively engaged, my brain checks out. That's just how I work.
But I'm also thoughtful about how I treat people. I try to be kind, I make an effort not to let other people's disagreements dictate how I treat my mutuals. I am a believer in 'actions speak louder than words', and despite the roasts, I show a massive amount of respect for my oshi. I'm proud of the time, effort, creativity, and enthusiasm I've put into this community.
I don't always get things right, and I'm certainly not everyone's cup of tea. That's fine! But I don't want to feel like I have to make myself smaller, quieter, or less opinionated to justify being here. I love my oshi, I love fsp, I love stagelights, and that's all that matters.
