Working here on a Sunday is the highlight of my week ☺️
We are a cafe for those who are vulnerable in swansea. Everyone gets music, company a free 2 course meal, multiple hot and cold drinks, dignity packs and groceries/treats to take away.
We also have showers and a Laundry
This morning, @mrjamesob dedicated a substantial portion of his @LBC breakfast show to discussing the broader societal impacts of youth service closures.
After sharing key findings from a recent @TheIFS study, James took calls and messages from listeners who shared life-changing experiences with youth clubs and youth workers, highlighting how these services had expanded their opportunities.

The world has not “failed” Gaza, the world is failing Gaza.
The slaughter is not over for us to claim the past tense.
This is happening in the present & we must treat it as such.
This means there’s still urgency & space to change the dynamics.
11/11 Gaza has been made unlivable. Those with power to change the situation lack the will or courage to do so. Humanitarian assistance is not the solution to political failures. These atrocities must end, ICJ measures implemented, and perpetrators held to account. #CeasefireNOW
Remarkable, first hand account of the appalling situation in Gaza, after thirteen months - yes, thirteen months - of relentless violence. I simply don’t understand how the UK remains complicit in this barbaric, punitive war against the people of Gaza.
I’m proud to share our recent publication describing the development of a multivalent mRNA-LNP vaccine for C. difficile that incorporates targets across C. diff’s complex life cycle https://t.co/cQuur0iWps
Yes, my friends, it is that time of year: the leaves begin to change colors, the temperature cools and the time-honored tradition of rooting for your favorite chonky bears at @KatmaiNPS begins.

🐱🐈🐈⬛Cat owners:
We are getting one (but probably two cats) in the very near future….adopting rescues who are 3 months old.
What are the absolute must haves? And oh my god, there’s too many litter/litterbox choices…which is the best (and least smelliest?)
My absolute, hands-down, favourite brand of MedTwitter sass, is some “Murica fuck yeah!” post from US anaesthetic Twitter, immediately hit by a deluge of weary British anaesthetists that cannot be dealing with this shit.
6 years later, I’m a qualified doctor working in ICU/anaesthetics and I love it.
Turns out, I actually do have some learning difficulties but overall, I’m good.
It’s taken 15 years to get here so far.
The same still applies, there’s always a way forwards.
10yrs ago I had an offer to study medicine.
I didn’t meet it. 4yrs loving someone who broke my bones & told me I was stupid instead.
I became an ICU nurse (1st BSc hons).
I’ve just finished my 1st yr of medicine.
Life happens. But there’s always a way. #resultsday
This entire thread is worth every word. @TheCut published an (anonymous) article about a woman abusing her cat after the birth of her child. If that doesn’t scream all manner of things at you, then this thread spells it out perfectly.
Quick question: What the FUCK?
@TheCut needs to explain why this article made it past the cutting room floor, and to answer for 1) reinforcing the idea of pets as a 'starter child' that gets animals abused and killed, and...
"without immigrants we wouldn't have ...." ok but also! they are humans? stop viewing immigrants as money making machines for the economy it's very demeaning
I'm going to be fair and share Declan Heaton's apology.
It's up to people from Stoke-on-Trent and the Muslim community whether they accept his apology.
