We are lucky in the product management role that there exists a comprehensive handbook showing us best practices in our profession. What is more amazing is how succinct and useful everything is. If you don’t have this book you need it! @jackiebo@gayle
For every app idea there is a person that will say "I can easily do that in Excel/Word/Wordpress". Don't ignore this person but don't necessarily give in either. If you don't have solid arguments about why they are wrong you need to get back and finish your research.
"We won't make this feature easier to use because it's not popular" is one of those things product managers need to stop and think more about. Is it not popular because it's not easy to use? Basic usage analytics may not be enough to uncover the truth behind this one.
@SCAutomation@ParissAthena Yes good point there, I would not blame the working people who have been target of this misinformation and obfuscation; but I see that it's more than just the tools we use to show data.
@SCAutomation@ParissAthena I don't think people are to blame. Whenever you see tax brackets there is one number next to ranges while the correct method is to add the number from previous bracket in dollars plus % of the rest in that range. For example:
