It is clear how deeply disrespected the boys must have felt to make such a definitive decision.

As fans & observers, we often fail to put ourselves in the artist’s shoes or consider their perspective when controversial category decisions are announced, who’s been in the industry for years and done wonderful things to gain the respect they deserve. BTS is fully aware that their work deserves recognition in the main categories, leading them to distance themselves from the Recording Academy's biased choices.

It is heartbreaking to see artists feel so consistently undervalued that they choose to withdraw from the conversation altogether just to protect the integrity of their hard work.
