“Whoever is in charge of the Labour Party when the music stops needs to deliver the change that was promised in 2024. A change from the arrogant assumption that government knows what is best for the countryside” writes @ca_timb https://t.co/p9uDsLAexG
Amazing news. Excellent work!
Further proof that public support for our farmers is strong. Foolish to pick fights with the men and women that produce our food.

A huge response to this recent programme! We spent the day meeting men and women who depend on trail hunting for their livelihoods.
Since the programme aired on GB News yesterday, lots of people have responded to oppose the government’s proposed ban on the activity. Thank you!
Thank you to everybody that has responded to this important story by completing our e-lobby in the last 24 hours 👏
People can see the government’s toxic culture war against rural people for what it is: a distraction.
You too can oppose the ban. It takes seconds. Link below⬇️
“You just look at the village itself, we’ve got no school left, we’ve got no shop. We’re the only local pub still surviving, and we’ve got the hunt, which is a social gathering. We’re like the last man standing”.
An important watch⬇️ https://t.co/QedzRxXmJH
Hold on, do you think it’s fair farmers (as they currently do) have to foot the eye-wateringly high bill for fly-tipping on their land? Are you suggesting farmers want waste dumped all over the land they care for in order to feed us?
Trail hunting contributes £100 million annually to the UK's rural economy. It brings many communities together. Sadly, all that is at risk.
Rather than pursue a toxic culture war against rural people, the government should focus on delivering for the countryside and its people.
Trail hunting was introduced after the Hunting Act 2004 as an alternative to fox hunting. Labour pledged to ban the practice in its 2024 manifesto, but organisations are now lobbying MPs to oppose the move, warning it could put 1,000 rural jobs at risk.

GET READY TO VOTE!! Here come @hawkstonechoir on @BGT !!! They have done so much to raise awareness of mental health problems within the farming sector, and they can sing too! Pob lwc!! Best of luck!!!
📢“Leave the countryside alone!”.
The government seems obsessed with picking on rural people to distract from real problems: from farmers, to those in hunt service, gamekeepers and rural businesses⬇️

@Owain2026 Speaking from personal experience I don’t think they grasped the shortage of qualified nursery staff. Two local nurseries have been advertising for months. The essential trained workforce just isn’t there, and they need the suitable premises, most around here are already full.
Do you remember this farmer singing the Welsh anthem? Well he’s only gone and made it to be in the @hawkstonechoir who are in Saturday nights @BGT semi’s! Please support by voting for them, they are doing a great job raising awareness about mental health in the farming sector.
The job of government is to improve people’s lives, not to behave like new puritans telling everyone what they can and cannot do — my speech in the @UKHouseofLords on the assault on rural communities
Plaid Cymru promised a “rural reset” ahead of the election - now comes the important part: delivering for rural Wales.
I’m looking forward to working with the new Welsh Government and Senedd members from all parties to ensure rural communities can thrive.
