Between the housing crisis in many EU countries, the arrival of migrants and asylum-seekers, weak investment in social housing or in emergency housing, homelessness became not only a local or national issue, but a European one.
According to recent statistics of the European Commission, 2% of the European population can be considered as homeless. And this is, sadly, an increasing trend.
That’s why the European Trade Union Institute designed in recent years its “Job Quality Index”. By using 6 main criteria - spanning from income quality, career development and representation by trade unions - this think-tank is helping to have closer look and job inequalities.
Around 6% of Europeans are currently unemployed according to @EU_Eurostat , the EU’s statistics body. 🙎🏼
However, while public policies are focusing mainly on putting people ‘back to work’, they tend to overlook job quality. ⚙️
