When I was Muslim, this shook me:Â
The story of Noah.
Because when I compared the Quran to the Torah, I found a difference that isn't small at all.
In Genesis, Noah brings his wife, his three sons, and their wives onto the ark. Shem, Ham and Japheth - All three survive. In fact, the entire post-flood world is traced back to those three sons.
That's the foundation of the biblical genealogy of nations.
Then I read Surah 11.
And suddenly one of Noah's sons refuses to board the ark, says he'll escape by climbing a mountain, and drowns in the flood.
And I remember thinking:
Wait. Which son? What happened to the genealogy? What happened to the nations that were supposed to come from him?
This isn't a minor detail. It's a completely different version of a foundational story.
And the more I studied, the more I noticed the pattern.
Abraham, Moses, Joseph, Mary.
The Quran repeatedly retells biblical accounts with significant changes.
That forced me to ask a question:
If God does not contradict Himself, why do these stories change? Because the Torah's account existed centuries before Islam.
The Dead Sea Scrolls, the Septuagint, and other ancient manuscript traditions all preserve the same core narrative.
Yet the Quran presents a different version.
At some point you have to decide:
Is this revelation?
Or is it revision?
Because if two accounts make contradictory historical claims, they cannot both be preserving the exact same story.
And that question was one of many that eventually led me to reexamine everything I believed.
At the Shepherdâs Conference back in March, I enjoyed sitting down with the brothers at Grace to You. We talked about the impact that Dr. John MacArthur had on my own life. If you have a moment, Iâd encourage you to watch this short interview (https://t.co/LCjNXNFsOJ). Youâll also hear how Dr. MacArthur influenced some other friends of mine, including Paul Washer, Al Mohler, and H. B. Charles.
I first encountered Dr. John MacArthurâs teaching in the late 1980s, when someone gave me a copy of âThe Gospel According to Jesus.â When I began reading it, I was deeply impressed by Johnâs biblical convictions, particularly his focus on the salvation of the whole person and his emphasis on how Jesus Christ cannot be received by faith as Savior without also being received by faith as Lord. I eagerly underlined my copy and filled the margins with copious notes. I simply loved it for its biblical fidelity, sound exegesis, and practical wisdom. And that led me to begin listening to some of his expository sermons.
I learned many things from Dr. MacArthur. The first lesson that his life and ministry taught me is faithfulness. John taught believers to stand for the truth, no matter the cost. Second, he was an example of loyalty, demonstrating unwavering fidelity to the Reformation principle of the sufficiency of Scripture. Third, he was an example of humility. Whenever I spent time with John, he never talked much about himself; he didnât parade his reputation. He was first and foremost a servant-hearted shepherd. And perhaps most of all, he was an example of perseverance. In that regarded, he followed in the footsteps of his godly father, John MacArthur Sr. (1914â2005), who served the Lord faithfully until his death at the age of ninety-one.
The influence of Johnâs writings and sermons is immeasurable. While preaching on every inhabitable continent on the globe, one thing has struck me about Johnâs ministry: in the scores of countries I have visited, no matter where I go, people know who John MacArthur is. It doesnât matter what conference Iâm at. Countless people have been profoundly influenced by his ministry. In many countries, I have seen sections of bookstoresâor even entire bookstoresâthat sell nothing but Johnâs writings. That is always a delight to see. John was one of those giants whose tremendous impact upon millions of people will only be fully unveiled in eternity.
NY is now another country altogether đđI cannot believe The Republican Leadership let this happen đĄAll these years watcing it be destroyed and no one did anything.
đĄ My heart is breaking watching this...
Justice Clarence Thomas just dropped the TRUTH that every American needs to hear. Progressivism isnât just some harmless idea â itâs a direct assault on the very soul of this country. It wants to replace God-given rights with government-granted privileges. It demands we become weak, subservient, and dependent.
This is an OUTRAGE. I sure do hope that Congress will finally step up and FIX THIS before itâs too late. Justice Clarence Thomas is a TRUE PATRIOT â a man of courage, conviction, and unwavering love for the Constitution and the America our Founders envisioned.
In a time when so many are afraid to speak truth, he stands tall. I am sure that you are just as OUTRAGED over this as I am. If this video moves you like it moved me, share it. Loudly. Our rights donât come from Washington. They come from God. And no government will ever take that away from us.
You know what shook me when I was Muslim?
The story of Hosea. God tells a prophet to marry a woman He knows will betray him.
She does. She runs to other men. She ends up enslaved, sold, used up, worthless to the world.
And God tells Hosea to go BUY HER BACK.
To pay money for his own wife who cheated on him, and love her again. Hosea 3.
I thought it was the most humiliating command in the Bible. Why would any man do that?
Then I realized I was the wife.
I gave my heart to everything but God. I chased other masters. I sold myself cheap. I made myself worthless.
And God looked at me, the betrayer, and didnât say âyouâre not worth it.â
He said, âName the price. Iâm buying her back.â
Thatâs the Gospel. God doesnât wait for the unfaithful to come crawling back clean.
He pays to redeem them while theyâre still dirty.
Islam told me to make myself worthy of God.
Hosea showed me a God who pays to redeem the unworthy.
The cross was Him naming the price.
Praise the Lord.
The inaugural Midterm Convention is shaping up to be an absolute powerhouse.
A brilliant, bold idea from President Trump thatâs perfectly timed.
Canât wait! đ„

When I was Muslim, I said it with confidence: âJesus never said âI am God.â Show me the verse where He says those exact words.â
I thought if the words werenât there, the claim wasnât there.
Then somebody asked me a question I couldnât shake:
If a man stood in front of you and said, âBefore Abraham was, I AMâ â using the exact name God gave Himself at the burning bush â what is he claiming? John 8:58.
The crowd that heard it understood instantly. They picked up stones to kill Him for blasphemy. John 8:59.
You donât stone a man for being a good teacher.
He forgave sins, which only God can do. He accepted worship, which every prophet refused.
He said, âIf youâve seen Me, youâve seen the Father.â John 14:9.
I wanted the four words âI am God.â
But He did something harder to dismiss.
He talked and acted like God in every way that counted, and let His enemies tell you exactly how they understood it.
They didnât try to kill Him for a metaphor.
They killed Him because He proved He would change this world.
"If you want to have a ministry like Jesus Christ, Paul or any of the men that you admire, you must be experts in the Scriptures and lovers, caregivers, affectionate ministers of the souls of men." â Kurt Gebhards #TMSChapel https://t.co/oHxaRaFrK3
