Me and many others have always stressed to players how important grassroots tournaments are. Instead, people have taken them for granted, stopping their support whenever the prize pool doesn’t seem worth it or when the organizer isn’t famous enough to make participating “worth the effort.”

Coming myself from a community like Splatoon — which, back when I was casting and organizing, was constantly called a “dead game” before the release of the third title — I want to once again emphasize how important it is to support projects like Pemalex’s.

Tournaments are not a right; they are a privilege, and the community needs to start valuing them more. Let’s start giving more recognition to the work of organizations like Unity Clash, EX Frontier, and people like Pemalex.
