This morning, our first-year students had to discuss the Péclet number in the final exam of the course on Partial Differential Equations.

The Péclet Number (Pe) measures the relative importance of advection versus diffusion in fluid dynamics. It is named after the French physicist Eugène Péclet. His statue is in the lobby of @centralesupelec as Péclet was one of the co-founders of Centrale Paris in 1829.
