โDo I regret leaving? Regret is a strong word. I left Paris because I wanted to chase the biggest dream in football. Nobody can criticize that.
People say, โMbappรฉ was the problem.โ
Thatโs the easy narrative. The reality is that PSG spent years building a European giant, and when the trophy finally arrived, some fans acted like history started the day I walked out the door.
I find that funny.
โPSG won the Champions League after I left. Congratulations.
But letโs not pretend the story started after my departure. For years, I carried the expectations, the pressure, and the dream when Europe mocked this club.
Some fans celebrate the trophy by erasing the people who helped build the road to it. Thatโs their choice.
Maybe that tells you something about football. Sometimes a club spends years building a house, and the person who lays the final brick isnโt the one who built the foundation. I scored the goals, broke the records, carried expectations that would crush most players. Yet the trophies arrived after I was gone.
The funny part? PSG have won it twice without me, yet somehow, every time PSG lift that trophy, my name still ends up in the conversation.
That says more than any trophy ever could.โ
๐จ๐ฃ๏ธ Kylian Mbappรฉ: "People say Messi is talent and CR7 is hard work? I'm not trying to be condescending, but that's something that only PEOPLE WHO HAVE NEVER PLAYED FOOTBALL can say.
If you can look me in the eyes and tell me Cristiano isn't talented or that Messi isn't a hard-worker, then you simply never laced your boots up and played football." @Sorare
I think this is the right move, and I also think itโs the right time to move on from the chant as well.
If weโre playing Wolves or another symbolic game, fine, but otherwise, itโs time to retire it. It doesnโt mean Jotaโs forgotten, but itโs time to let him rest.
