@toddedillard As a student, I know that in the past when I sometimes sent wishes to professors who once taught me they often assumed that I wanted to get connected for something 🙂 I just think they are generous，also very conscientious, and eager to help out (since academia is a calling 👐).

@nicholdav Thanks for the informative pointers — yes, I have read that book, but didn’t know about that interorganizational initiative. This helps balance my perceptions about oss which is biased toward scientific oss.

@nicholdav This suddenly brings me to a question: I've never seen an award given to open source maintainers who shoulder a lot of work. Is it because I'm too blind? I feel like a lot of acknowledgment can be given in this field.

Although the number of unread emails in my mailbox is definitely more substantial, the total of my read emails is also wild. In other words, when I was a kid, I never expected that I would read so many emails in my adult life. Cheers for your email accomplishment today! 🎉

@kfogel Besides, I would love to practice how to write with different styles, tones, and maybe genres. It's just that not everyone will always have a good opportunity to write in varied genres.

@kfogel I like the musician's exercise analogy. I feel the most sculpting exercise in writing is revising, and the heavy lifting part is coming up with a new logical flow that tells the same story. And practicing it multiple times over a piece of writing can be very effective...

My writing muscles appear the most robust when writing in Times New Roman, 12 pt, single-spaced. It's a controversially so conventional choice.
