Now up to number 500 of the "Letters to Learners" (Litrichean du Luchd-Ionnsachaidh). Quite a feat! (Although I see from this week's Pàipear Beag that there are now 1,403 of them in total!) #Gàidhlig
@bindelj@michaelpforan I was at a conference on sex and gender law at the LSE last week, when Michael kindly signed his book for me. No protests, no demonstrations. Is Oxford now more infested with progressive loons than the LSE?
@msjlindsay I contacted my old Oxford college to object when the JCR passed a motion in favour of no-platforming Kathleen Stock from the Union. The Principal responded saying the college authorities were proud of the way the undergrads had exercised their free speech rights. Clueless.
@spikedonline Well, blow me down - Julie's hit the nail on the head. There's always been something a bit off about NS and that is precisely it: no sense of humour. And not just her; the whole party. Can anyone imagine having a laugh with John Swinney? And the trans types - the same. Chapeau.
Good grief! These Russian names are getting worse. Maxim Aristarkhovich Klintsov-Pogorevshikh. (Come back, Catsmeat Potter-Pirbright, all is forgiven!)

@msjlindsay It is difficult to comprehend. Why are they continuing to defend (and/or lionize) her? She has brought their movement into disgrace and ridicule. Whether by malfeasance, negligence or even just a culpable (albeit scarcely credible) lack of curiosity. Most peculiar.
@elladorn_@KateClanchy1 You appear to be confusing casting a wry eye at an imperfect school system with an attitude of contemptuous dismissal. I'm not sure the fault lies with the book.
I do enjoy reading a bit of Russian literature but sheesh! the names! Why do the characters all have such mad names, which we poor readers are supposed to keep on top of somehow. Latest one in my current book: Ruffina Onissimovna Voit-Voitkovsky. Seriously??
Just been to see Raphael Wallfisch play the Bach cello suites in Temple Church. And got his autograph on my copy (on vinyl) of his recording of the Finzi cello concerto.
@NadiaWhittomeMP When you say "weaponized the courts for their own ends", do you mean "brought legal challenges which succeeded because they were well-founded in law"?
Congratulations to my extremely talented wife, whose book has been shortlisted for the Orwell Prize. (Tweeps - go and buy a copy and read it. Don't just take my word for it - that's the considered view of the Orwell Prize judges!)
