Re-introduction for the new peeps:
Hi!
I am a music composer for games and studio guitarist.
Credits include Hearthstone, Overwatch, Disney, Lego Brawls.
I dig cool people, creatives, positive energy, design, people who love sharing their expertise. I love learning.
Am I doing this wrong or is there some magic I have to do?
For context, I’m a gnarly Studio One user but their score editor is cheeks and I wanna have more flexibility in views.
Cubase users!
I’m thinking about taking advantage of Cubase’s competitor crossgrade deal.
I have cubase downloaded but for the life of me cannot figure out basic functions. The UI is hella clunky and the hotkeys feel weird af.
@SarahLevinger Sooooo dude has some kind of magic that he can wear people the faces of people he kills. He is a man with no face. Theorrrrrrrry is that dude is Syrio Forel, Arya’s sword dancing teacher from Kings Landing. We never really see him die in KL. So he chills around to protect Arya.
Almost done editing a video demo of the a John Mayer tone and posting that bad boy soon!
That and handling some music for a fantasy game are on my docket for this week.
Firing on all cylinders, babbbyyyy.
Between projects I’ve been getting into the habit of writing music for when I’m playing any tabletop games like D&D, or Magic and I post it on Spotify.
Then I put the music on the speaker and say “oh wow. This music is awesome” and see if my wife agrees.
Am I doing it right?
Dang. The beat step pro is prettttttty rad. Messed around with it playing with some old battery kits I had.
I think for the sake of time I still might be faster writing in piano roll or playing in synth parts.
HOWEVER, it’s pretty rad to mess around with.
Chat, my buddy Joris was right. Buying one piece of analog gear is the way to open the portal.
Yesterday I ordered an @ArturiaOfficial Beat Step Pro to expand the sequencing capabilities of the Edge annnd use the sequencer to control my soft synths and drum plugins. Stoked.
Got some VO editing to handle. Some guitars for a game to record and a piece of in-game to revisit the mix on.
As the homie, Rosh Roslin would say, keep that coffee flowing!
