ABC 7— Following San Diego Islamic Center's deadly shooting, CAIR-Chicago's Executive Director, Ahmed Rehab, is calling on elected officials to hold themselves accountable for the normalization of hate speech in the public sphere.
We are deeply disturbed, but not at all surprised, to learn that those who attacked the Islamic Center of San Diego were reportedly motivated by anti-Muslim hate.
Hate against American Muslims is completely out of control. Numerous politicians have spent the past year claiming that all ‘mainstream Muslims’ should be destroyed, that American mosques and elementary schools should be shut down, and that American Muslims should be expelled from our nation. Just last week, House Republicans held a congressional hearing to fan the flames of hate against American Muslims, their houses of worship and even Muslim school children.
Time and time again, we have seen that hate speech like this can lead to hate crimes. The mass shooters who massacred families at the Christchurch mosques in New Zealand and worshipers at a mosque in Quebec all embraced the rhetoric of prominent anti-Muslim extremists.
A deadly attack on an American mosque was as predictable as it is unacceptable. Anti-Muslim hatred is one of the last acceptable forms of bigotry in American society, and it is long past time for the tolerance of this hate to end.

I'm leading a letter to the Trump Admin about the illegal Israeli military attack on the Flotilla and the abduction of civilians, including Americans, heading to Gaza to deliver humanitarian aid. We are demanding an end to the blockade on Gaza and the release of the two remaining captives.

CAIR Chicago isn’t a civil right advocacy group, they are left-wing extremists group much like SPLC who support ppl that aim to destroy the United States.
Personally I’m sick of the idea of a law only applies to certain ppl & I’m tired of ppl thinking that they are special so they deserve some sort of special protection.
The destruction of solar panels in a Christian Lebanese village and a solar charging station in Gaza are more example of the indiscriminate harm inflicted on civilian infrastructure by Israeli occupation forces. These actions not only deepen humanitarian suffering but also demonstrate a pattern of conduct that U.S. taxpayers should not be forced to subsidize.
Congress must take immediate steps to end military aid that enables such actions. Accountability and respect for civilian life must be central to U.S. foreign policy.

A Wisconsin alderman posted on LinkedIn about Muslims and “bacon rapped bullets."
Public officials take an oath to serve all constituents, not to demonize them. Seals’ violent and dehumanizing remarks targeting Muslims and immigrants are not just offensive, they are dangerous. This rhetoric fuels hate, legitimizes discrimination, and puts real people at risk. It is fundamentally incompatible with the responsibilities of public office.
Seals is clearly unfit to serve and must resign immediately. There is no justification for an elected official who engages in this kind of hate to remain in office. If Seals refuses to step down, local leaders must act to remove him. Silence or inaction in the face of this rhetoric is complicity. The public deserves leadership that respects their dignity, not officials who incite fear and division.
