The “Elite gays” discourse is hilarious to me. Many use it as a shorthand to describe an aesthetic or group particularly in DC…the term isn’t inherently good or bad.
Am I asking too much to want someone who can converse about a wide range of topics…politics, policy, science, music, etc. People act like it’s some anomaly
“I like a challenge” sir leave me alone I am not interested, and pursuing me heavily will not change the outcome. Someone out there is for you it’s just not me.
I’m a nerd and love being a student. I’m burnt out from my current PhD program but give me a few years and I will be back in school like it’s nothing. This won’t be for credentials but for an intellectual challenge and expanding understanding/expertise.
Black people are allowed to hold their culture dear to their hearts and point out any discrepancies if they are a harm to the culture.
We’ve been conditioned to believe not causing a scene shows maturity. It only shows complacent and obedience to wrong doing.

Both MD and VA are Black AF in the metro areas. Going to college in Ithaca, NY after being in Richmond all my life made me realize I never can live in an area without a significant Black population.
I think we as gay people need to stop perpetuating the idea that homophobic men, abusive men, asshole men are secretly gay or bisexual.
I’m sure there’s cases of that but a lot of niggas are just terrible.
I finish my PhD in a couple months. It’s been everything I asked for in training and in a challenge. I’m coming out the scientist I wanted to be and then some. Excited for the next phase of my career /training.
