@TrussellUK No one wins here. Why encourage families who can’t afford children to continue breeding and live of the money of hard working people. Makes ZERO sense.
@a_jleft @_G_G_M_U_@GaryLineker The police were there from 11am being hugely respectful and stand offish, allowing people to pay their respects and walk around at a safe distance. It’s when a group of activists joined and started a protest that the mood changed
@KieronBoote1 @GaryLineker How am I politicising a tragic event? I was there for the silent vigil, to pay my respect, to reflect on what we can do to change the world so this doesn’t happen again. I like to think I’m very much being fair. I appreciate protest. I don’t appreciate violence against anyone
@JackAlcock@GaryLineker 10-11 and 6pm onwards. The police were thoughtful and standing back until those with a political agenda started screaming in their face. The people who would probably still call upon them should they be in danger. #notallsharkskill
@Callum4735 @AngieMitchell07@metpoliceuk Agreed and I watched this happen. It was a perfectly peaceful and respectful vigil for #saraheverard until protesters with a political agenda decided to take over. The same protesters who will call police when they don’t feel safe !
@a_jleft @GaryLineker Why did they start asking people to step down from the bandstand you mean? And then when people continued to scream in their face fuck the police what other action should they have taken.
@MaracasFlute @GaryLineker Says the vigil organisers said everyone who turned up and stood quietly and respectfully, says the people that were there for Sarah, not those with political agendas who want to be featured on YouTube. https://t.co/zExNPsSsev
@JamesEFoster@PippaCrerar @unionlib The police didn’t want to be there, this was a highly volatile situation, but when you have a group of screaming women, turning a vigil into a political protest and continuously provoking and prodding the police what is to be expected of them??
@MaracasFlute @GaryLineker You’ve misunderstood my point. I am all for protesting and getting your point across in many ways... today and tonight was not the time to turn it into that.
@Emily_J_Thomas@PointyShinyBurn I hear that. Lovely to be able to have an adult and educational conversation about this though. I absolutely respect that. Here’s to a better day tomorrow x
