Year on year, Hammarby fans continue to be one of the best in women’s football. Filling up stands away or at home, they host moments like this.
Shivers.
Rebecca Welch will become the first woman referee to be involved in a Premier League game when she acts as fourth official for Saturday's game between Fulham and Manchester United at Craven Cottage 👏
We have a very alarming and concerning trend developing over the last couple of months and even days as many excellent college and club coaches, directors and most importantly friends step away from the game they once loved and cared for deeply due to mental health problems and burn out.
There’s no handbook or manual to do what they do, you just learn from experiences - the good and the bad. Majority of the time they have to be the coach, parent, problem solver, tension diffuser, psychologist, driver and wear many more hats to do their job. Sacrificed family time, sleep, but mostly not being able to disconnect from professional world to the personal one, due to lack of boundaries which have completely faded over the years because of cell phones and social media usage push people to quitting.
This applies to all avenues of life not just soccer. I hope my soccer people and others taking time to find their happiness nothing but the best. We all fight different battles daily, check on your strong friends, they are usually the ones bleeding in silence. 💚
