@NotDenims@kafkadefender No? I used to hold a similar opinion to yours, but Dworkin and a few others completely shifted my perspective on the porn industry, sex work, and feminism.
@NotDenims@kafkadefender online porn is violent without exception, and the patriarchy can never be dismantled until the sexualization of women's harm and suffering is eradicated
once again begging the media to use the term “child sex abuse material (CSAM)” and not “child pornography”
there is no such thing as “child pornography” and the use of that language trivializes the sexual abuse and exploitation of children
@39daph as a woman who has existed in the gaming space for 20 years, I have truly struggled to find a place I felt completely comfortable in, but ur stream has always been one of my fave places so ty for doing the hard work of fending off creeps and being outspoken to create it!
The full quote is better:
“You’re in the circus, bro, goin, ‘doesn’t anyone else see that we’re surrounded by clowns?’ Brother, give your nose a squeak for me and tell me whatchya hear.”
Did you know that people used to believe that penmanship revealed your moral character and sometimes even personality? In the Victorian era, neat, ornate handwriting was treated as proof of education, discipline, and virtue. Most people today would not pass such tests because they don't write by hand with enough frequency or even use the right tools. In fact, many would have to relearn how to hold a writing instrument in order to produce something like Spencerian script.
This judgment was, of course, a classist proxy. Those fortunate enough to attend school and be drilled in a particular style of writing were deemed of “good moral character.” In reality, they were simply members of a social class taught that the markers of their own group made them inherently better than others.
So ask yourself: if you cannot produce Spencerian script today, are you a bad person? Are you ill‑educated or immoral or even lazy? Obviously not.
If you want to know whether someone is of good moral character, look at how they treat others. Do they take the time to make the anxious feel relaxed? Do they speak well of friends and family? Do they help people in need?
If you want to know whether someone is intelligent, listen to what they have to say. Do they make thoughtful points? Do they show sound judgment and wisdom?
If you judge a person’s deeper qualities based on they dress or write, you are not discerning. You are simply superficial and likely not very intelligent.
Skincare subreddits are talking about Epstein’s influence encouraging people to believe in pedophilic beauty standards, ohhhhhhhh this is actually big y’all
(Online beauty spaces have almost always been stubbornly “apolitical.” Such an explicit pivot says a lot.)
There is no doubt that a large circle of powerful wealthy men were raping girls and women alongside Epstein and Maxwell.
But the even bigger circle comprises all of the people who didn’t give a shit about the horrific abuses taking place. Who didn’t care that Epstein was a pedophile and registered sex offender because he was a power player with an enormous network of wealth and influence.
After his 2008 plea deal, and up until he was arrested in 2019 on federal trafficking charges, his network STILL flourished. Many notable figures (who are currently insisting upon their “innocence”) maintained a relationship with him.
The question we should all be asking is why do we live in a world where the sexual exploitation of children and abuse of women is so normalized?
choice feminism reeks. yes women can choose to be surrogates, but if the choice is rooted in financial necessity, is it really a choice? like we cant ignore that surrogacy is a capitalist system that disproportionately benefits wealthy folk so they can keep their "perfect" bodies
