“My country is not prepared for this mental health crisis that they are dumping upon my people.”
Israelis are vacationing on Siargao Island in the Philippines after participating in the genocide in Gaza. And locals are fighting back.
This impeachment has shown us that there are good, intelligent and competent people within the government ranks and bureaucracy.
The elected officials are the problem, the people who vote for them are the bigger problem.
“Have you ever heard Egypt say, ‘We will fight against extinction’?
Have you heard Iraq or Spain say, ‘We will remain and will not disappear’?!
No, because they know they are existing, authentic countries, present, not foreign
Countries that existed before and will remain.
They do not speak about disappearance, or existence.
Except for this illegitimate entity. Every time, it says: ‘We will fight an existential war. We will not disappear…’
Because they know themselves, and they know their reality, that they are an intrusive, foreign entity, a cancerous tumor that will one day be uprooted.
They know that more than we do.”
- A Palestinian writer from Gaza.

⚔️ Sierra Madre Mountains: A Double-Edged Sword
The Sierra Madre is Luzon’s natural shield, breaking the winds of Pacific typhoons before they devastate inland towns.
Yet this same barrier can also turn into a floodmaker. When storms strike, its slopes trap huge volumes of rain that rush downstream into the Cagayan and Pampanga river basins.
Without trees to absorb and slow the flow, floods surge faster and stronger.
The Sierra Madre protects us from the wind’s wrath, but neglecting its forests turns protection into peril. It’s a double-edged sword, one edge saves, the other cuts.
Bottom line: It’s not the mountain that betrays us, it’s our neglect of it.
