This action follows his unauthorized disclosure of classified information regarding Air Force One’s capabilities to a media outlet.

Safeguarding classified information is a non-negotiable duty. Those who violate that trust forfeit the privilege of access and any role requiring it.

Today, Brig. Gen. Nicholas Gist was promoted and invested as the 16th Dean of the Academic Board at West Point.

Gist holds a Ph.D. in exercise physiology with research in human performance. He most recently led the Department of Physical Education and has served on the Academic Board since 2015. A 1994 West Point graduate and Army aviator, he has deployed to combat three times.

He now leads the academic program that intellectually challenges and develops every cadet who commissions from West Point.
