Having read the spec,
I think Cambridge International A Level in "Thinking Skills" is one of the best qualifications I have ever seen.
It defines an incredibly core set of valuable, transferable and relevent skills.

This is incredibly cool!
A teacher is teaching his class of 10 year olds how to program on a Spectrum, and they have made all their new games available to download. Some look outstanding!
I wish my school in the 80s had been this ace!

I'm catching up on stuff I should have done in my teens.
I've drawn Sierpiński triangle to a terminal.
Time to think about animating it ...

I implemented Bresenham's line algorithm and my own 2D Matrix transformations to animate/rotate a shape with ascii characters in a terminal.
Life milestone complete!

I have a wealth of skills that I can contribute over a range of professional roles and problem domains ...
But right now, all I want to do is engage in an ultimately pointless task of building a cool puppet.
I recently removed 10,158 lines of python from my karaoke system.

10 years of effort have been superseded by newer tools and techniques.
The project is even better now! Never be too precious about old code :)
@BarCampCant There used to be an old joke "If this is your first BarCamp, you must give a talk". While that's a bit too forceful, the principle is sound. You don't need slides or any prep. People are not expecting polish. They want to hear your stories! Go for it!
@Smutchings@barcampcant Step one .. book kick ass venue .. step two make it happen!
I hope we can ignite a whole new cohort of hacker/makers.
We'll need you to help with the retweets :)
I've been experimenting AV1 as a video codec for https://t.co/nUxbKSEjl7 . Took me a while to find the right ffmpeg settings. I'm in absolute awe. Videos are half the filesize and look better than the h264 equivalent. How is this quality even possible!?
@Miss_Sohal I taught in schools my 20's. In my 30's I was a software engineer. I have now returned to the teaching profession to support Initial Teacher Education.
You can return when the time is right.
Good luck.
I'm making some https://t.co/OOPy0HRNxg enhancements.
Optimise only when needed:
Old 'first load' time == 35 seconds
New 'first load' time == 3 seconds
Serving content though static files is like engaging afterburners!
Created a super simple RSA demo implementation in Python.
I still don't think I have a proper handle on the maths behind this crazy prime/coprime stuff.
Next step: how to I teach this ...

@scottturneruon It's cool to have an emulator physically manifest as hardware.
I find the imperfect hiss and humm of the noisy poor quality analogue audio of the original machine kind of comforting.
