I had this general thought at the start of the game and even gave my gf a mini rant about it like if these characters are relevant why are they only being introduced per chapter instead of seeing them from chapter 1. Bron's later appearance was the only one that made sense 🤷🏻‍♀️

No no no, he’s right. I love noticed there has been a very clear shift in Poppy Playtime ch4 onward.

This particular chapter was full of things that seemed random,,, that shouldn’t have felt random. If you played the game without listening to tapes and reading notes, the story is extremely barebones and things just—- happen??

There’s things they introduce that when you think about the other chapters, feels redundant or improbable. Honestly it feels like they wanted to end at this chapter but had to add more stuff just to keep going, cause previous chapters were good at laying down seeds for stuff that they show later, but starting from Ch 4 it felt like they needed to repeat things they already did just slightly different.

Like why is there a 3rd variant for the smiling critters? Why hasn’t Lily lovebraid been seen anywhere EXCEPT here as an IP? And the insideout-imals for that matter. They have a bunch of other toys they never seem to use but keep making new IPs in the story? Who tf is giblet??? Why is he here???

Why does it feel like they are creating things for PP that are not meant to forward the themes of the game. And if they are, why aren’t they given focus (LILY LOVEBRAIDS!!!!!)???

Theres just… an incompleteness to the story telling in Poppy Playtime now, that is tangible but complicated to explain because the production of the visuals and gameplay is competent but not enough to save the WHY that the narrative is supposed to be giving.
