We were once told the Bible is very clear, slavery is legitimate, leadership is male, divorce equals exclusion, the earth is only 6,000 years old etc. Now those immature & abusive readings of the Bible’s texts have been dumped. So why do some still use it to exclude LGBT+ people?
1/2 - Same-sex couples already in civil partnerships or civil marriages, or who have sealed a covenanted friendship, can now be offered Prayers of Love and Faith at Canterbury Cathedral, following a unanimous decision by the Dean and governing Chapter.
Special services of prayer and dedication asking for God’s blessing for same-sex couples should be introduced on a trial basis, @synod has agreed.
