I’m a pastor, serving daily in my home church. I lead many closer to Jesus, time in His word, and a deeper fellowship with the saints. And today, what I need most is what I direct others towards. Being an undershepherd of Christ does not preclude me from needing to be led myself.

@johnmarkclifton (2/3) My colleague told me that normal relationships are relics of my former life. Everything aspect of my life is now cast in the shadow of being an undershepherd. That is a sacrifice of being a pastor. It’s not easy, but it’s worth it.

@johnmarkclifton (1/3) I recently sat down with a dear brother and fellow pastor, pouring out my heart. I struggle with being lonely. All of my relationships happen within the context of ministry. Moving from friend to pastor changes the dynamic whether you want it to or not.
