@michael84866379@TylerBoliver Article I, Section I, Clause I:
"All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States..."
Notice the use of the word "All."
@bradleydevlin@PhilWMagness And which branch is empowered to "Lay and Collect" Duties again? I'll give you a hint: it's not the Executive.

@BIGpaulie913@sunnyright Well, your side of the argument has precedence; ours has the plain text of the constitution:
"The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises..."
"All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress..." https://t.co/a6Ip4AWFPh
@BIGpaulie913@sunnyright The Constitution does not authorize a Branch to abdicate its enumerated responsibilities. Congress cannot simply ammend the constitution by statute. If it's such a vital alteration, then ammend the constitution, via Article V.
@ORBit_TheTruth@RandPaul The question before the court was not "are tariffs (reciprocal or otherwise) a good idea?" That is a question for the legislature. The role of the executive is to execute the laws passed by Congress, not to make them.
@DNLSHLR @DACDAC4DAC Not by the prescribed amendment process :
"...no State, without its Consent, shall be deprived of its equal Suffrage in the Senate."

@dcsprior @SlicinHammer@droidsteve66@ChrisMartzWX The states are functionally equivalent to Scotland, etc. here:
• Senators being beholden to their state legislatures, and of equal number per state, is how you get as much as possible decided at the regional, rather than federal level.
• Still better than the House of Lords.
@Supreme____Beef @dcsprior @jpkoch@ChrisMartzWX It's not amendable, unless unanimously agreed to. Good luck with that.
"...no State, without its Consent, shall be deprived of its equal Suffrage in the Senate."

@BrianR25@USAttyEssayli Agreed. However, just to clarify, the clause is in Article VI. The Constitution didn't require amending to establish federal supremacy. https://t.co/Qy1Acxm3KB
@ThunderWatson@FluteMagician@az0zone Regardless, gov. powers are separated into 3 branches, not 4. Those who work in the executive branch do so at the behest of POTUS to whom is vested "the executive power." Congress may impeach, and SCOTUS may overrule, but executive branch employees may not override the President.
