Democrats like this are exactly why Canadians don't trust the USA. Democrats expect Canada to unilaterally disarm against the tariff war started by the USA and ignore the repeated and ongoing threats of annexation.
Canada's boycott of California wine is causing devastating harm to winegrowers.
I'm urging the Canadian government to recognize that California doesn’t agree with these tariff wars, to lift these restrictions, and increase consumer options to strengthen both our economies. https://t.co/aGHxWiCPps
this is a perfect example of the political double standard that republicans benefit from: Democrats have never denied disaster aid for red states, and it would be a massive scandal if they did
… but Trump does it and it’s barely a story because he does corrupt stuff every day
I remember reading the novels in like late elementary school to late highschool and thinking Voldemort lacked sauce because his thing is he goes around casting the death spell at people. The books made the biggest deal about how evil he is, even having a gag about a book in the forbidden section of the library about "evil artifacts" puss out and say, "Horcruxes are too evil for even this evil book of evil things" when it's literally just phylacteries. His whole arsenal of awful is limited to, "lmao he uses the death spell...and phylacteries...and and...and he mind controls people? Can you believe that?"
Meanwhile, Umbridge gets two books to be that two-faced prim and propper old biddy from your neighborhood church group and PTA who nobody really likes, not even the priest or the principal, but everybody suffers because she's agonizingly involved in every bodies business, and than it turns out that it's all just a facade. You find out all the grotesque skeletons in her particular closet, all of them stuffed there in pursuit of clout and that there's really no sin or cruelty she wouldn't descend to if she could get away with it and it furthers her image publicly.
I guess you could summarize it this way.
Voldemort is a Saturday morning cartoon villain, written through the eyes of a school teacher who tacks nonsense on without realizing it just adds to the ridiculousness. Like, he's evil because he's a rape baby and therefore can't know love.
Meanwhile, Umbridge was in the Epstein files.
Jasmine Crockett lost the primary because she did not build a broad coalition of support beyond Black voters in East Texas.
It wasn’t because of racism, James Talarico, or the mean anon accounts.
Crockett did not hire a campaign manager to advise against her running a negative campaign against her primary opponent.
Also, she relied heavily on a gaggle of social media influencers, who went on to build a cult around Crockett after the primary. They have nothing to do with Black Texans, and everything to do with their grievances about Crockett not being on the ballot in November. Sad shit.
The Venn diagram between people that oppose safe consumption sites and people that complain about public drug use is a circle.
If you want to end addiction, homelessness, and mental illness, then you need to support the institutions that reduce them.
This is just voyeurism.
AOC responds to centrists telling socialists to leave the Party:
"You can't tell them to get out and then in a Presidential cycle tell them they have an obligation to vote for you".
I know everyone hand waves this away as just being part and parcel of a Westminster parliamentary system, but in my opinion letting the sitting Prime Minister decide the date and conditions for elections is extremely bad! I don't care that everyone accepts this as normal!
A new alternative dating app to Grindr called Goose launches today.
Founded by Derek Chadwick, the platform is a non-hookup focused app centered on “dating, making friends & community.”
I can’t believe I have to put this in writing AGAIN since Boulerice announced his resignation:
I understand the tactical reason why the NDP runs separatists in Quebec. I’m not saying it’s perplexing. I’m saying that it’s fucking scummy. Yes, even if other parties have done it.
