Excited to announce that my first two peer-reviewed articles have appeared over the last several months!
If you're interested in these topics (and have university library access), happy to send PDFs.
@TylerLeeConway I totally agree that we can't claim love is dependent on pluralism without flattening the religious beliefs/experiences of the entire world.
Re: Universalism... To claim both that you trul love someone AND that you think they're going to hell is... at least counterintuitive.
@jasonmoore What video game should I play after finishing RDR2 for the first time? Just now getting into video games. RDR2 blew my mind, I'm struggling to get into anything else.
@KevOnStage Crazy coincidence on my timeline or the Twitter algorithm has gotten too good. Craziest thing I've seen in church was a Gospel presentation that was mostly ripping phone books and bending metal bars.
@TylerLeeConway Gotta make sure we never mistake debate skills for an in-depth and nuanced understanding of a topic. Debate is a learned rhetorical skill that exists separately from subject matter. Someone skilled/trained in debate will almost always beat someone who isn't.
If we want to be able to read both Paul and James on their own terms, then I think we have to give up on the idea of clearly and definitively parsing out faith from good works. They are both irreducible features of the new identity offered to us in Christ.

Our sermons are now available via podcast under the too long title "The End of Words: Sermons from Caleb Punt @ Grifton United Methodist Church." Particularly interested in ways to improve the production values, this is a new skillset for me.
