GPT-6 Astra has the best result yet on the Bach Benchmark. Its chorale contains no voice-leading errors, and its harmonic palette is sophisticated enough to include a Neapolitan sixth chord. More importantly, it is the first model to ever write passing tones on this benchmark, a significant leap in musical understanding.

Harvey is a great example of how American companies are building world-class specialized models: they took an open-source base (Kimi K3), post-trained it on legal data, and delivered state-of-the-art performance on legal benchmarks at a fraction of the cost of frontier models. Restrictions that kneecap open models would do nothing to stop Chinese labs from shipping the next Kimi. They would, however, cripple the ability of startups like Harvey to create high-performance, low-cost vertical models. Of course some of the closed labs would love this — it eliminates their competition.

Mark Cuban is unloading a bunch of *terrible* takes today. obviously radiologists will be replaced by a simple computer vision / LLM algorithm. this is a perfect use case and soon (if not already) ai will be so much better at the job.

Model usage costs money. A lot more than a radiologist.

Medicine is a business.

Putting together AI with domain knowledge is complex. When it can be the difference between life and death, who do you want building it and using it ?

People forget that using AI and trying to get accurate answers is a skill that will need to be taught in med school

AI won't replace radiologists. But every radiologist will use AI
