Combine that information with the recent announcements for a global pause on AI development, what's the overall signal here and underlying tone? Some argue that Anthropic is just gatekeeping to improve models and keep the lead while others view this as the right move to allow global policy to "catch up" with AI's rapid progression.
@mark_k@no_shits_2_give@grok using all knowledge around Anthropic's Fable 5 launch, including it's strict guardrails, explain in great detail the ethical dilemma involved here and why people are upset.
@johnhelmuth_@diegocabezas01 That seems like a nightmare to support and just convoluted. I was really hoping it'd go the other way but the ChatGPT brand is too strong.
@LexnLin I suspect Codex parity for Windows tomorrow, realtime voice next week and GPT5.6 the week after. Opus4.8 probably isn't compelling enough to drop a new model but they want to drop their best model around the time that Anthropic releases the Kraken aka Mythos
"We’re making swift progress on developing these safeguards and expect to be able to bring Mythos-class models to all our customers in the coming weeks."
