The series finale of Twitter. Should we expect underwhelming spinoff series or a reboot of an original show? Facebook, MySpace? I’ll reinstall MSN messenger.
Hi #onpoli
To be clear: this is NOT me.
I'm a journalist, not a politician.
It's my namesake (or as I like to call him, the other @_Mike_Crawley) who has been active in Liberal politics since the 1990s.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

“However we may differ, we are all human. And we all have the right to have our inner dignity respected—and especially in this House in debate.”
– Ed Broadbent (1936–2024) reflects on the need for civility in the House of Commons during his farewell speech to MPs, May 5, 2005.
Learn NOT to comment on EVERYTHING…. Especially on social media. If you don’t agree or like something.. It’s OK to keep it to yourself. Speaking out EXPOSES your position. Not always the Smartest move. Especially in business. 💎
On this day in 1837, the Battle of Saint-Eustache was fought in Lower Canada.
The Patriotes were outnumbered 7-to-1 by the government forces. They lost 70 men in the battle, including their leader Jean-Olivier Chénier.
Bring back Bugles please.
You took them away from Canada in 2010 but gave them back in 2011.
Well it has been a year without Bugles once again.
Bring. Them. Back.
One imagines Premier Legault surrounded by his high paid team of advisors busting out the spinning wheel of identity issues to distract from the shit show. Will they be blaming immigrants or Anglos? Muslims or les wokes? 📈: @Qc_125
Since George Santos was expelled from Congress, I thought it would be interesting to look at the history of MPs expelled from the House of Commons.
It has only happened four times to three people in Canadian history.
Let's explore!
The first time it happened was in 1874 with Louis Riel. He was elected in 1873, but due to the killing of Thomas Scott during the Red River Resistance, he was expelled.
He then won in the by-election and was expelled once again in 1875.
The next time it happened was in 1891 with Thomas McGreevy. He was accused of corruption and defrauding the government. He was expelled in 1891.
After he served his prison sentence, he was re-elected to Parliament in 1894 and served until 1896.
Lastly, there was Fred Rose.
He was expelled in 1947 and became the only known MP to spy for a foreign country. He was ousted from the House of Commons when he was found guilty of stealing weapons research for the Soviet Union. He was alleged to lead a ring of 20 Soviet spies.
He spent four and a half years in prison and eventually moved to Poland in 1953.
