How about the staff at Flowing Wells in the late 1990s?
Pat Nugent, head coach, along with assistants Pat Ryden, Shawn Wasson, Jorge Mendivil and the late Warner Smith, to name a few.
Dustin Peace was a player with the Caballeros who later coached under Nugent at CDO along with Ryden before becoming the Dorados' head coach in 2009 when Nugent went to Pima CC.
Ryden, Wasson and Mendivil have gone on to lead their own HS programs.
Mendivil has 121 career coaching victories at San Manuel, Empire and Amphi.
Ryden, head coach at Rincon/UHS before rejoining Nugent at Pima CC in 2009, has worked as a defensive assistant at Salpointe since the Aztecs' last season in 2017.
Ryden would be an excellent hire by Salpointe with his coaching background and respect from the coaching community in Tucson.
Nugent has 158 career victories at FW, CDO, Cienega and Mica Mountain. His impact on Southern Arizona football is immense.

Don't be surprised if longtime assistant coach Pat Ryden surfaces as a top candidate for this position.
The successful defensive coordinator is widely respected among his coaching brethren in Tucson with more than 30 years of experience locally, starting when he was an assistant at Flowing Wells from 1989 to 1993. He moved on to Santa Rita from 1995 to 1998, and then back to FW in 1999. He followed Pat Nugent from FW to CDO from 2000 to 2006 and served as head coach at Rincon/UHS in 2007 and 2008 before rejoining Nugent at Pima College in 2009. He then coached under Jim Monaco at Pima through 2017 before being part of the staffs of Bene and Eric Rogers at Salpointe the last few years.
