@ELKFLA@JamesOKeefeIII Most crimes occur without there even being an arrest. But how many times is a person willing to risk being caught? Because to impact an election even on the local level you'd have cast 100's, if not 1000's of illegal votes. Even if it were physically possible, who would do that?
@chuck_kastel@JamesOKeefeIII People commit general fraud because they gain something from it that makes it worth the risk to them. Voter fraud is different - there's no direct gain by casting a single vote illegally. Not even if they could do 100 illegal votes. It would be the dumbest reason to go to prison.
@JamesOKeefeIII You're actually proving why voter fraud doesn't really happen. You've gone out of your way to make clear that you didn't go as far to cast a ballot in someone else's name . . . because you don't want to spend 5 years in prison. No one does. The law is a great deterrent itself.
@JamieDyckes@LaurieRoberts@azcentral Harry Reid did not drop the filibuster for the Supreme Court - again, the GOP did to push through Gorsuch after Trump nominated him. And they'll immediately abandon it again if they manage to come up with something else that 50 of their senators agree on.
@CarolLeonnig@SecretService Can someone clarify whether it was just 1/5 and 1/6 texts that can't be recovered or a much wider range of dates and texts?
@SenSanders@Ilhan My kids are in this school district. The issue isn't with families of low income not being able to pay, but with parents that have the means but are negligent. I'd be fine with higher taxes to pay for every child's lunch, even those from wealthy homes - I doubt most others are.
@soledadobrien I have children that go to school in this district. The problem here is mainly with parents that have the means to pay (not those who are struggling) but don't. If you pay off their debts then you have to pay for every child's lunch - which would be substantially more than $18K
@jaketapper@barbarastarrcnn@TheLeadCNN Great question. Odd to even admit that he received that information so late - the President sounded very uninformed in his interview discussing this.
@LauraNirider People responsible for the vast majority of homicides are men. It doesn't mean that all men are capable of murder, but there just isn't as much mystery or curiosity for us - by nature we better understand the psychology involved. It's more novel/interesting for women.
@marclamonthill@IlhanMN Respectfully disagree w/ this take. Omar already has already been made a target thanks to the president - Pelosi name-dropping her would only agitate things more. This no longer about politics, it's now an issue of safety.
@JordanRaanan i think keeping Apple (and supporting him) was the smartest move so far by DG. young guy with talent - improved situation and environment should allow him to excel
@MikeGarafolo "Hey Nicky, sorry but we can't trade you. We're not sure about Carson being ready Week 1, and the fans would kill us for letting you go for scraps in return. Here's $2 mil - keep your mouth shut and we'll see about next year"
@MikeGarafolo You're giving the Eagles way too much credit for doing the "right thing". I don't think they had much of a choice but to make this deal with Foles.
@JamilSmith@jaketapper@Starbucks Philly cops were acting based on the information they were given, not their fault. Could've been avoided if someone in that Starbucks just went over there and talked to the 2 guys.
@amandacarpenter He became a parent in 2002 - he's run for re-election 8 times since then. Plenty of chances to stop for more family time before now. Sorry but no one is swallowing this tripe.
