KANU is now among Kenya's richest political parties after an audit report revealed it owns land and buildings worth more than Sh10.15 billion.
The party owns land valued at Sh1.95 billion and land and buildings valued at Sh8.2 billion.
However, the audit highlighted transparency gaps, including KSh 212.7 million in unsupported balances (comprising trade payables and loans) lacking the proper supporting documentation.
UDA declared KSh 1.953 billion in land assets in its financial statements. However, the Auditor General faulted UDA for failing to provide any legal title deeds or valuation reports to verify ownership or the actual worth of the land.
ODM partyโs total asset base is valued at approximately Ksh 11.7 billion
Wiper Party Flagged for KSh 35.6 million in misstated accounts. This included a KSh 14 million unsupported balance originating from an un-reconciled prior-year adjustment. The party also failed statutory requirements by operating only 14 county branch offices instead of the required national presence.
NARC-Kenya Flagged for KSh 27.4 million in unsupported balances involving member contributions, receivables, cash equivalents, and unpaid trade payables
Democratic Party of Kenya (DP) Carried KSh 2.1 million in unverifiable trade balances.
Communist Party of Kenya Held KSh 351,900 in undocumented debt.
A total of 25 political parties completely failed to submit their mandatory financial statements or missed their deadlines entirely, evading the transparency process despite receiving public funds.
37 political parties failed to establish or maintain properly decentralized regional branch structures as legally required
