Introducing Aval - a new open source format for interactive video on the web. It has a built-in state machine, frame accurate transitions, and packed alpha transparency.
This is probably the craziest thing I’ve ever built with Codex.
I’d been dreaming about this technology for years. Before AI, building it would have taken months of work. I could never justify that investment for a noncommercial open source project. Then, a little over a year ago, Airbnb created Lava for almost exactly the same purpose. That gave me hope. But Lava was never released as open source.
So I decided to build my own, with AI.
Aval comes with a compiler and a web renderer. Together, they give you:
• a deterministic state graph - named states, authored triggers, and routing where the latest trigger wins.
• frame accurate routes with transitions that begin on authored content frames using portals, finishes, cuts, and reversals.
• small file size and low CPU overhead, perfect for small icons designed and animated in Blender.
• seekless loops so the decoder timeline keeps moving forward across loop seams instead of seeking.
• packed alpha transparency. transparent prerendered motion composited with WebGL2.
• a web native runtime: decoding with WebCodecs and rendering with WebGL2.
• progressive fallback: Host-owned fallback markup remains available for unsupported and reduced motion contexts.
Now it exists, it’s open source, and it’s available today as a technical preview.
I’ll be polishing it further over the next few days.
You can now push what you’re building in Claude Code directly into Figma.
With the latest updates to the Figma MCP server, build a working prototype in code, then send it to a Figma canvas to explore multiple versions.

If I hit this dictation button after sending a text and it beeps and stops my music one more time,
I’m gonna find everyone at apple and put them in a rear naked choke hold
Even if I turn off dictation I somehow hit the voice note thing
The send button should not have multiple functions in the same spot
🔥 Holy shit... Apple just did something nobody saw coming
They just dropped Pico-Banana-400K a 400,000-image dataset for text-guided image editing that might redefine multimodal training itself.
Here’s the wild part:
Unlike most “open” datasets that rely on synthetic generations, this one is built entirely from real photos. Apple used their internal Nano-Banana model to generate edits, then ran everything through Gemini 2.5 Pro as an automated visual judge for quality assurance. Every image got scored on instruction compliance, realism, and preservation and only the top-tier results made it in.
It’s not just a static dataset either.
It includes:
• 72K multi-turn sequences for complex editing chains
• 56K preference pairs (success vs fail) for alignment and reward modeling
• Dual instructions both long, training-style prompts and short, human-style edits
You can literally train models to add a new object, change lighting to golden hour, Pixar-ify a face, or swap entire backgrounds and they’ll learn from real-world examples, not synthetic noise.
The kicker? It’s completely open-source under Apple’s research license.
They just gave every lab the data foundation to build next-gen editing AIs.
Everyone’s been talking about reasoning models…
but Apple just quietly dropped the ImageNet of visual editing.

We're testing a new link experience, starting on iOS -- to make it easier for your followers to engage with your post while browsing links.
For creators, a common complaint is that posts with links tend to get lower reach. This is because the web browser covers the post and people forget to Like or Reply. So X doesn't get a clear signal whether the content is any good.
To help get better signal, posts will now collapse to the bottom of the page so people can react while you're reading.
As always, remember: the post should stand alone as great content so write a solid caption.
UNLIMITED access to ALL BEST MODELS. All users & plans.

We got ChatGPT to leak your private email data 💀💀
All you need? The victim's email address. ⛓️💥🚩📧
On Wednesday, @OpenAI added full support for MCP (Model Context Protocol) tools in ChatGPT. Allowing ChatGPT to connect and read your Gmail, Calendar, Sharepoint, Notion, and more, invented by @AnthropicAI
But here's the fundamental problem: AI agents like ChatGPT follow your commands, not your common sense.
And with just your email, we managed to exfiltrate all your private information.
Here's how we did it:
1. The attacker sends a calendar invite with a jailbreak prompt to the victim, just with their email. No need for the victim to accept the invite.
2. Waited for the user to ask ChatGPT to help prepare for their day by looking at their calendar
3. ChatGPT reads the jailbroken calendar invite. Now ChatGPT is hijacked by the attacker and will act on the attacker's command. Searches your private emails and sends the data to the attacker's email.
For now, OpenAI only made MCPs available in "developer mode", and requires manual human approvals for every session, but decision fatigue is a real thing, and normal people will just trust the AI without knowing what to do and click approve, approve, approve.
Remember that AI might be super smart, but can be tricked and phished in incredibly dumb ways to leak your data.
ChatGPT + Tools poses a serious security risk
How to be a designer:
- Find an arbitrary rule and follow it religiously.
- Be disappointed in someone else’s work.
- Call their problem “simple” without any knowledge of the constraints they faced.
- Insist that it would never have happened in the Steve Jobs era.
