@CHARLOT21755647@Fuugie163 Bix is full of complexities and contradictions from the moment we meet her. Again, people refuse to engage with her character in any meaningful way, then claim she isn’t "fleshed out" or doesn’t have a life outside of Cassian, which is just not true. It’s exhausting
He’s a raging misogynist, which is why he gave us a large cast of some of the most compelling female characters in Star Wars and all the women who worked with him speak of him so highly. Whatever man
Tony Gilroy re-wrote and re-shot a lot of Rogue One. He fleshed out Jyn and is in large part responsible for making her the character we love today. This narrative that he hates Jyn stemmed from ship discourse and people ran with it instead of listening to what he actually said
@CHARLOT21755647@Fuugie163 She also has a community there. Kellen, Talia, Bee. And just because we see her on Mina-Rau for 30 seconds doesn’t mean she intends to spend her life there, or is out of the fight. It’s a symbolic final shot that encapsulates the themes of the show
Where is this idea coming from? He created ONE Star Wars show and now all of a sudden he can’t imagine women/aliens being the main character? Yes the titular character was a man but let’s not act like Mon Mothma wasnt given a HUGE spotlight. She was practically half the show.+
@CHARLOT21755647 It’s not Adria’s fault that Diego plays younger lol. Were they supposed to hire a 40-something actress just to de-age her? They’re over there talking about ageism. Just throwing words around 😭
I've been in Tumblr for so long, I have seen several generations of new stans come in.
Each generation is progressively more weird about ages of characters and the actors that play them, and about age gaps.
The concept of ACTING is also totally lost on them.
I'm tired.
Nothing annoys me more than when someone doesn’t like something in a story and instead of just personally not liking it, they make it seem like it’s a poor writing decision.
@Fuugie163 Another reason why this moment is so powerful is bc you’re sort of led to believe that Cassian is coming to the rescue in the stolen TIE but Bix subverts that trope and kills her attacker herself and it’s so cathartic
