@catboy_collectr i’d argue that there’s still a melancholy here in terms of like, being able to desire other people but not in a way that fosters connection? maybe this guy is thriving without that but i imagine it would get lonely sometimes, especially if he experiences romantic attraction

I’ve been briefed on the tragic events that took place this afternoon on the Lower East Side.

Based on the preliminary information, NYPD officers responded to an incident on Ludlow Street where a man had suffered a laceration to the head. When officers arrived, they instructed a man with a butcher knife to drop the weapon. He then approached the officers with the knife, and officers discharged their firearms.

Both men were taken to a nearby hospital. The man who suffered the laceration is in stable condition, and I am wishing him a full and speedy recovery. The man who officers shot was pronounced dead.

As with every incident in which NYPD officers discharge their weapons, there will be an internal investigation, and body-worn camera footage of the incident will be released.
