The week is almost closing, and price failed to reach for higher prices as I thought was likely. Couple of important points

My thesis was built on 2 main points (simplified):

✅ The weekly low will likely hold
❌ The weekly candle is statistically too small and thus we will see further displacement

So the first turned out to be true, but the second was false, and thus our thesis fell short.

However, just because it didn't play out doesn't mean I don't stand by this analysis anymore.

My thesis was simple: 100% of bullish weeks in the last 3 years saw more displacement from low to high.

That means we are currently printing the smallest bullish weekly candle in the last 3 years.

Not something I would bet on.

I will continuously put my bets at events that have happened often historically, not on events that haven't happened (like we see now).

It's also good to note that you will also never hear me say "there is a 100% chance" or "there is a 0% chance" of something happening.

I have a very defined rule system, but I know it doesn't capture all information available in the market. Such a system is impossible.

So when I see 100% of weeks see further displacement, you will still hear me say "it is likely to see further displacement" rather than "there is a 100% chance".

That's because I know that I am measuring tiny subset of events, and just because something has never happened before doesn't mean it can not happen in the future.

Is it unlikely to happen? Yes sure. But impossible? Never.

But it's also wrong to assume that if your system fails once after it was very confident (like mine was now) that therefore your system is broken.

In that case you are not thinking in probabilities.

Next time these statistics show up, I will be making the exact same bet. Because I know at the end of the day, I will be right more often than I am wrong.
