‼️ HEROES OF TWIN FALLS: Marcus Scott, father of police officer Austin "AJ" Scott, shared a powerful tribute to his son, who was critically injured after running toward danger during yesterday's shooting at an In-N-Out Burger in Twin Falls, Idaho.

"On August 1, our lives changed forever," Marcus wrote on Facebook. "My son Austin AJ Scott was shot while responding to an active shooter incident. When he heard gunfire he made the courageous decision to move toward the danger in an effort to help protect others. He was critically injured and is now facing a long road of surgeries, recovery and rehabilitation."

Marcus previously celebrated his son joining law enforcement, posting, "Congratulations Austin Scott James. Welcome to the Blue family. Love you son."

According to the GiveSendGo campaign launched on his behalf (link below), Austin was sitting in the drive-thru with his wife, Connie, and a friend when gunfire shattered the moment. Without hesitation, Austin instructed them to stay safe inside the vehicle while he moved toward the threat. Exercising extraordinary tactical awareness, he intentionally chose not to draw his firearm so responding officers and citizens wouldn't mistake him for the active shooter.

"We are incredibly thankful that God spared his life and that his wife and friend were there to provide immediate care until he could get to the hospital," Marcus added. Mayor Mamdani’s team just confirmed: his new city-run grocery stores will require an ID to shop. Not just any ID, a special one, so they can verify you’re actually a New Yorker before you get 30% off milk and bread. 🥛🍞

Why? Because they’re worried people will drive in from Jersey and clean out the discounted groceries. Fair enough, I guess.

But here’s the part nobody can explain: 🧠

This is the SAME administration, and the same party, that calls voter ID laws racist. Says it’s “too burdensome.” Says it disenfranchises people. Says requiring ID to prove who you are before you vote for the leader of the country is some kind of civil rights violation.

Yet showing ID to buy a discounted rotisserie chicken? Totally reasonable. No pushback. No “burden” talk. Just straight up: bring your papers or no groceries.

New York City will require IDs to prove you live in the city in order to shop in the city owned grocery stores. So you need an ID to shop in the city’s stores, but it would be racist to require an ID to vote. Perfection.

We should nuke the filibuster to pass the SAVE America Act.

If we don’t have the votes to nuke the filibuster, we should put the SAVE America Act on the floor and debate it until it passes, requiring filibustering senators to speak and making clear that if they stop speaking, we can “call the question” and pass it with a simple majority.

If for some reason we can’t do that—and to be clear, there’s no legitimate reason why we can’t—then we should use budget reconciliation to pass it.

But not passing the SAVE America Act is not an option.

Neither is taking a lengthy recess without doing any of the above.

We are living through a massive information crisis in which at least half the population is being systematically misinformed, making any sane national debate increasingly difficult. Without a shared factual foundation, there is nothing to discuss. People are not merely drawing different conclusions from the same evidence. They are living in entirely different realities.

That is what makes the Fauci story so tragic. He caused untold harm, yet millions of people know almost nothing about it. We can debate precisely how large a role Fauci played in the creation of Covid, but half the country does not even know that Covid came from a lab. We are therefore several steps removed from the basic conditions required to have an intelligent discussion.

Other facts are even more black and white. Fauci’s private diary contradicts what he told the public. His own words reveal a man of almost limitless narcissism. These are not matters of interpretation. They are documented facts. Yet we still cannot have a national conversation about them because the media either refuses to report them or actively lies about them. Anyone who is not on Twitter, which is most people, may never encounter the underlying evidence at all.

The result is that I increasingly find it almost impossible to discuss any of this with ordinary people, whether family members, acquaintances, or people at events or birthday parties. Unless someone has followed the evidence closely, there is no common starting point. Before you can debate what happened, you first have to dismantle at least ten years of falsehoods and omissions.

I do not know how this ends, but it is not sustainable. A country cannot function indefinitely when its people are no longer capable of discussing almost anything beyond sports on the basis of shared factual knowledge.
