After a recent report by the Washington Post implicated 'Secretary of War' Pete Hegseth in ordering a double tap strike on survivors of an initial attack on a boat in the Caribbean, even Republican members of Congress are calling for an investigation. It would be an undeniable war crime according to all laws of war. Hegseth has not denied the report and posted a meme this morning celebrating the attacks.

As the U.S. government continues to bomb boats of fishermen in the Caribbean without evidence of their accusations or due process, it is also taking the floor at the U.N to lie about the U.S. blockade on Cuba.

So, let’s be clear: for more than 60 years, Cuba has been punished for choosing sovereignty and independence over living under the boot of U.S. imperialism. The U.S. is strangling the Cuban economy stealing nearly $20 million dollars a day from the Cuban economy, and its actively working to crush the will of the Cuban people by producing conditions that could be met if the U.S. would just let Cuba live.

What the U.S. has done to Cuba is not about democracy or care for the Cuban people. Take a look at what they are doing to working people in the U.S.

It is the same force of evil arrogance that carries horrible acts of violence, not only against Cuba, Venezuela, Haiti, Puerto Rico (as its colony!) and around the world, that is also carrying an overt war against working people all across this country. They are cutting access to food, healthcare, and destroying public education. They are lining up their pockets while laying off federal workers.

When we stand in solidarity with Cuba’s right to sovereignty, for the right of the Venezuelan people to defend their land and resources, we do so with the understanding that those who are dropping bombs abroad, strangling economies of other nation states, creating starvation as a weapon of war… are also dropping bombs, producing starvation and attacking our people in Chicago, New York and LA.

Don’t be fooled: the “rebels” in Syria who the media is cheering on as freedom fighters are literally the al-Qaeda franchise in Syria. Their agenda is to massacre religious minorities, eliminate all rights for women, and abandon the Palestinian cause.
