A few weeks back Dr Faisal Bari wrote about Mr Iqbal who drives a rental car in Lahore and makes Rs 60,000 per month. Today Dr Farrukh Saleem writes about Mr Rashid Ahmad who makes Rs 96,000. Neither can make ends meet. Both have seen bills and expenses increase much faster than their incomes.

The Pakistan governance in the last two decades has been abysmal because the structure of our governance is wrong. We are stuck in a low growth equilibrium and our politics isn’t allowing us to climb out of this hole. We need fundamental structural reforms.
