A2: To create student empowerment it is important to create a space where students feel safe. Encouraging students to respectfully share thinking whether they agree or not creates ownership of student learning. By taking the lead students can and do have an increased investment.
A1: Students that I get to work with feel that they are trusted, loved, and respected because of our interactions. By making personal connections with them, validating student thinking and creating a safe space to encourage learning.
