@Ixzieli Helen's presentation could definitely be reflective of dissociative fugue state including sudden loss of memory, wandering, and assumption of a new identity construct (possibly the Candyman himself?) #fidlercandyman
@itzbella005#FIDLERTalkToMe However, if we consider shaking the hand s analagous to drug use we must rule out any substance-induced mood/psychotic disorder first before giving a primary psych dx!
@itzbella005 Ya thats a good thought, on the differential would definitely be MDD with psychotic features vs a primary psychotic disease which was perpetuated by an acute stressor - Shivani Bahl PGY-1
@xkhushipatel11 Great point! It could suggest that each entity represents a different aspect of her psyche or her unresolved emotions. The fact that they appear differently might reflect the stages of her fear, guilt, or grief, or even how her mind is processing trauma.
@luckymeowmeowy Good point! She would probably benefit from individual therapy like CBT or grief-focused counseling, to address her emotional responses and coping strategies. Also family therapy with her father could help explore underlying relational dynamics 😊
The older I get, the more I realize that success at most things isn't about finding the one trick or secret nobody knows about. It's consistently doing the boring, mundane things everyone knows about but is too unfocused/undisciplined to do.
Get good at boring.
