A massive, systemic FEE SCAM has been uncovered in Private Law Colleges across Kashmir !

Our future lawyers are being exploited by the very institutions meant to teach them justice and the rule of law.

An official order from the University of Kashmir's College Development Council (CDC) has exposed a systematic, multi-crore rupee fraud perpetrated on students by private law colleges in kashmir affiliated to University of kashmir.

THE SCAM:

Multiple Private Law Colleges including Sopore Law College, Kashmir Law College Nowshera & Vitasta School of Law have been illegally charging students lakhs in excess fees, blatantly violating the university-mandated fee structure of ₹30,000 per annum.

THE EVIDENCE:

Official orders from the University of Kashmir's College Development Council (CDC) have been issued to multiple colleges, confirming the fraud.

For example, one of the private law college,has been charging an ILLEGAL "Admission Fee" of ₹7,000 per student.

But this is just the tip of the iceberg. This is a coordinated, multi-crore scam targeting students across the region, with other colleges involved in similar practices.

All the colleges have WILLFULLY DEFIED this order, missing the 3-day compliance deadline. This is not just fraud; it's a brazen challenge to the university's authority.

THE SCALE OF FRAUD (Conservative Estimates) of one of the private law college (Order Attached)

· Admission Fee Scam: ₹7,000/student = ~₹49 Lakhs
· Annual Extra Charges: ₹3,000/student/year = ~₹21 Lakhs/year
· Bio-metric Scam: ₹100/student = ~₹70,000

TOTAL: This is a CRORES-RUPEE SCAM affecting 700+ students.

This is not an isolated case. This is a SYSTEMIC ISSUE across private Law institutions, where future lawyers are being taught by engaging in corruption.

OUR PLEA TO THE AUTHORITIES:
We demand:

1. IMMEDIATE REFUNDS to all affected students.
2. A CBI INVESTIGATION into the entire financial dealings of all the private law colleges.
3. SUSPEND AFFILIATION of colleges found guilty.
4. FIR against the management of involved private law colleges for cheating, criminal breach of trust, and defiance of a lawful order.
5. AUDIT all fee collections for the last 6 years.
