Felixstowe & Walton United served up a hard lesson in @IsthmianLeague North life for the visiting Jockeys. The away side started strongest, striking the woodwork twice and forcing a point blank save from Harry Wright but Charlie Warren and Sam Ford were clinical on 26 and 30 minutes to send the Seasiders in ahead at the break. Fordy crossed for Wozza to head high into the roof of the net before Ford made space on 16 yards and picked his corner brilliantly for the second.
The floodgates opened second half. Cameron Forde-Brown made it three on 57 minutes, following up Josh Hitter’s shot that struck the crossbar before Warren raced clear to grab his second on 73 minutes. Willie Clemons scored a great fifth on 78 as he stole in to get on the end of Callum Bennett’s cross and Warren completed his hat trick on 84 minutes, converting his brother Tom’s excellent cross. Felixstowe could have had ten in all honesty but the last word went to Newmarket, and the referee, Stuart Ainsley seeing two yellows for a foul and arguing, with Harry Wright saving the penalty only for Isaac Maynard to react quickest for the rebound for a consolation.
