@FrDylanSchrader was in a book club reading it. it did not stimulate the conversation as it was intended. those who actually read it found it offputting.
@TiffaniMarie483@blessedtism my picky eater ate nothing but pancakes and hotdogs and milk. NOTHING. i was so afraid for his nutrition. he is now the tallest in our family. broke 6 ft before 15.
@TiffaniMarie483@ChaskaDaisy I'm so sorry. i don't have medical advice but i was not even on the growth chart as a child--30 lbs in grade 1. By age 20, I was slim build w average height.
does your child drink milk? have more milk. a LOT more. have more (real) ice cream.
@WalkerKortson76@MrDanielBuck yes, its been discussed for a couple years now. In an attempt to back out of test-optional college admission, tests need to be more in line with current high school student experiences, performance, and expectation. the modern test needs to provide equity+a positive experience.
@RogenJH@MrDanielBuck LOLLLLLLLL
because they neede to be as easy as the revamped SAT or no one will sign up for it.
and why did the SAT do that? equity! (and to make their test no more difficult than current college expectations.)
What in the Sam Hill?!
The ACT just quietly nuked their standards, and no one seems to have noticed
Fewer questions, more time per question, fewer choices, shorter & fewer reading passages
@JessaB61 this is a good move! it will be rough--you will find it difficult to give him enough material to feed his curiosity--but it's worth it. Once they get bored, it is so difficult for them to find their spark again.
I'm in year 10 now. never dreamed I'd do this, but its been fab!
@Oilfield_Rando what good news of great Joy!
thrilled for you.
ps. my husband lost every "his" room in our house over time to the children. the next office always falls too;)
